The Cheetah is said to be the fastest land animal on the planet. It is a yare runner whose impressive speed has been well-documented. In comics and movies, the fictional Superman is presented as being “faster than a speeding bullet…” He is a yare superhero who is ready, willing, and able to help people in need.
“Yare” is a little-known word that means to be quick, prepared, eager, and agile or nimble. Beyond a fast animal or fictional character, there is someone who perfectly fits the definition of the word ‘yare.’
God is the Yare Answer—and Answerer— to all of life’s questions.
God’s Yare answer is His only Son, Jesus Christ, and He is alive today and forever. Jesus Christ is the Yare One —quick, ready, and agile—who answers the prayers and needs of all who call on Him in faith. More accurately, He is the ultimate, Yarest Savior —perfectly prepared and agile—who can move faster than the speed of light to save all who call on Him.
Jesus Christ is God in the flesh and also God, who exists above and beyond all things. There is nothing He is unprepared for, and there is no limit to His ability to instantaneously respond to your prayers. He has overcome the world and even death, so His agility and capabilities are limitless. The Bible tells us that He can do “far more than we could ever ask or imagine” (Ephesians 3:20).
However, Jesus is not a genie in a bottle to be toyed with or manipulated by anyone for selfish reasons. As God over all the universe, He doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone or respond to a demand for a sign. But once the essence of our very being and the trajectory of our lives are in His control, all God’s answers to our prayers are, in one form or another, “yes.” God is the One and Only “Yes” answer to life!
The Bible makes this abundantly clear:
“ Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In him, this is what we preach and pray, the great Amen, God’s Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident. God affirms us, making us a sure thing in Christ, putting his Yes within us. By his Spirit he has stamped us with his eternal pledge—a sure beginning of what he is destined to complete” (1 Corinthians 1:20-22 The Message)
I recently heard that God’s “yes” answers come in one of three forms:
1) Yes, I will act as you have prayed and will do so immediately.
2) Yes, I will respond as you have prayed, so please wait and trust me as I reveal the answer at the perfect time—which is not now.
3) Yes, I will answer your prayers in a different and better way than you have prayed— above and beyond your understanding. Yes, I’ve got something much better in store!
Jesus Christ is the Yare and Yes answer to all your hopes, dreams, deficiencies, worries, needs, failures, even your very life and eternity.
As we near the end of the God Alphabet, I pray that the nudge of God’s presence stirs you to respond with your own personal ‘yes’ to Jesus Christ.
God bless you.
